This year for Thanksgiving we had a Huhnke family reunion in a little town called Meeteetsee, Wyoming where Chris' Grandma Sharon and Grandpa Joe live. It was really great getting to see everyone on the Huhnke side of the family and also meeting a few I hadn't had a chance to meet yet which was great! We had the Senior Center to ourselves and it turned out to be really nice with a big kitchen and dining room with plenty of tables.
Mostly all the cousins were there and Chris' brother Josh even was able to make it! My father-in-law, Dave had to be in transit back to Alaska for work so he wasn't able to be there. We missed him though! We had a lot of fun between the bon fires, games of spoons, go fish with the kids, and eating a 39 lb. turkey Grandpa Joe roasted to perfection!
It was really great for Ebin and Rhiannon to spend time with their cousins that we don't get to see very often.
Once everything was ready everyone filled up their plates before the feast!
Later we had a bonfire. Even though it was freezing cold the fire kept us pretty warm and It was nice to visit with everyone!
Thankful that I have such a wonderful family and also married into one that has welcomed me with open arms and hearts. Holidays like this are a great reminder of the most important things you have in life. Family.
Hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving holiday with your families as well!
