So... we just found out about this corn maze and pumpkin patch near by: Chris' mom was in town so we decided to check it out on Chris' day off. It was really cool and a lot of fun! We spent almost an hour trying to get out of the maze!! It was pretty awesome! There was also a hay slide that the kids made use of. Before leaving, we picked out some mighty fine pumpkins! I'm glad we were able to spend the afternoon together doing something festive. This is going to be on our list of family traditions from now on!
Chris had to work Halloween night so we ended up trick-or-treating with out him. It made us sad but the kids still got some great candy and had fun seeing their friends' on the streets. They got to show off their costumes and see a lot of really great costumes too! Ebin was Captain America inspired by a hoodie we got for him before school started and he is also one of Ebin's favorite comic book characters. Chris got crafty this year and used one of our old sleds to paint a shield. It turned out amazing and we got a ton of compliments on it when we went trick-or-treating. Rhiannon is still in love with cats! She wanted to be a black cat but since she has already been a black cat before for Halloween she opted for a black panther! She was cutest black panther I've ever seen! She got those big cat paw gloves for her birthday. (see Rhiannon's Birthday post) Our last stops of the night was to trick-or-treat at Danise's (the kids' bio-mom) job and to at the church carnival their Grandma Peggy helps with. Earlier in the day, at work, we had a big pot luck lunch with yummy chili, sloppy joe's, pumpkin pie and homemade hot cider! A few of us even dressed up :) We hope all of you, our friends & family had a spooktacular Halloween and had a lot of fun! Hopefully next year Chris can be off work Halloween night. I had planned to have a family scavenger hunt that we ran out of time for.. so next year will be even more fun!
